Rani Jarkas is a highly experienced financial services executive, with over 20 years of international banking experience. Currently, Mr. Jarkas is the Chairman and CEO of Cedrus Investments, a global boutique investment firm, he founded over decade ago. Cedrus Investments has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Jakarta, Cayman Islands and New York.
The firm’s clients include tier-one institutions, family offices, governments and corporations in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Prior to founding Cedrus Investments, Rani Jarkas held senior-level asset management positions at some of the world’s leading investment firms, including JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch and CIBC Oppenheimer. During his tenure at CIBC, he was the Executive Director – Investments, a member of the exclusive Chairman’s Council and consistently ranked among the top-25 Portfolio Managers managing money for pension funds, family offices and sovereign funds.
At Merrill Lynch, he was repeatedly ranked as one of the top Senior Financial Advisors for the firm. Mr. Jarkas’ clients are sophisticated investors, including corporations (public and private), pension funds and high-net-worth individuals from around the globe. During his tenure at JP Morgan Chase, Mr. Jarkas was a member of the executive corporate strategy team that took multiple Silicon Valley-based technology and Biotechnology companies public. Rani Jarkas is fluent in English, Arabic and conversational French. Mr. Jarkas is a Certified Financial Manager and holds B.A.s in Finance and Accounting from Georgia State University. Mr. Jarkas has a global outlook, entrepreneurial spirit, a competitive nature and a history of success. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Jarkas was the number one squash player and among the top-ten players in the U.S. for six consecutive years.
