Dr. Greg Pan, joined Hanking Group in 2005, currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Hanking Group, a China-based company, focusing on mining and other businesses. Dr. Pan held senior technical and management positions with various organizations, including CEO and President of China Hanking Holdings listed in Hong Kong, Director of Engineering Group at NERCO Minerals, Director of Technical Development at AngloGold, President of GeoSight, Inc. and General Manager of Gold Fields China.
Given his previous and current positions with major mining companies, Dr. Pan has accumulated more than 28 years of experience in mineral exploration, mine development, operations, [email protected] and management, including commodities of gold/silver, copper, lead/zinc, Pt/Pd, iron ore, nickel, and diamond mines. He worked in various mine projects and operations in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Mexico, Chile, Finland, South Africa, Canada, Indonesia, Australia, China, etc. Dr. Pan has extensive experiences in both mine operations and executive decision makings.
As a core leader, Dr. Pan led the growth of a small private Chinese iron ore company into a well-respected diversified international mine player and played a pivot role in the Hanking $100 million IPO in HKSE in 2011. He led the team for acquisition and operations of the Southern Cross gold asset in Western Australia, and eventually sold with multi-time returns to investments within four years.
Dr. Pan has broadly published papers and reports in the areas of mineral exploration, target delineation, mine resource/reserve estimation, economic evaluation and resource modeling, GIS database, etc. He published the academic work entitled 'Information Synthesis for Mineral Exploration' by Oxford University Press in 2000. Dr. Pan received the prestigious President Prize for 1990 by International Association for Mathematical Geology.
Dr. Pan received a BS degree from Peking University in Petrology and Geochemistry, obtained a master degree in Mathematical Geology from Jilin University, and a PhD in Mine Engineering and Mineral Economics from The University of Arizona."
